Sol has made an appearance

Feb 17

Turned out to be a lovely day today.  Started out overcast, but, about noon the sun broke through and oh, how it lifts the spirits.  The temp was about 18 degrees.  We went for a short walk and then a drive around exploring the immediate area.  Threw caution to the wind and left the GPS and map at home.  Found a nice looking, and by the numbers of cars parked around it, a very popular beach lounge or chiringuito, that I think we will return to for Happy Hour drinks and tapas.

Discovered these tasty little morsels - I thought they were cranberries at first, but they are actually little cherries, so flavourful and delicious

Repeat of yesterday.  A little cooler at about 16 degrees.  Did not travel too far today, just to the grocery store and a little wandering around, taking the backroads back to the hotel.  Bill's cold is still hanging on, so not feeling like doing much of anything.  It was time to make some nourishing soup for supper instead of going out.  Here in Europe, they sell vegetable packs for soup - so convenient.  They contain leek, carrots, parsnips, turnips, celery and daikon radish, simply pick up a bit of meat, do a bit of chopping and you have a quick basic soup made, enough for about three meals.
